3 paintings from the Dulwich Picture Gallery online as of now

12 March 2019

The Dulwich Picture Gallery in London has been so generous to share research data on its Rembrandt paintings online, through The Rembrandt Database.

As a result of our collaboration with the Dulwich Picture Gallery, the Rembrandt Database has been enriched with technical documents on three paintings from this collection: Girl at a window, Portrait of Jacques de Gheyn III and the Portrait of a Young Man. The technical documents shared by the Dulwich Picture Gallery includes X-ray films, infrared photographs and ultraviolet photographs. Aside from this, meta data on earlier treatments and research projects have also been added to the database. The Courtauld Institute of Art has given her permission to publish the X-rays they produced of two of the Dulwich paintings online as well.

We are grateful to Helen Hillyard (Assistant Curator, Dulwich Picture Gallery London) for providing us with the technical documentation and accompanying meta data.
