New addition: Three paintings from the Agnes Etherington Art Centre

5 November 2018

Today the Agnes Etherington Art Centre (Queen’s University) in Kingston has published technical documents on three of their paintings online, through The Rembrandt Database.

Both in-depth art historical information and technical documentation on Kingston’s Head of an old man in a cap, Portrait of a man with arms akimbo  and Head of a man in a turban are now accessible online. Aside from the data shared by the museum, technical documents kept at the Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE) in Amsterdam/Amersfoort, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the RKD – Netherlands Institute for Art History in The Hague were also added to the database, among which an X-ray film created by René Gerritsen Art & Artresearch Photography, who generously granted permission to publish the document online.

Many thanks to Dr. Jacquelyn N. Coutré (Bader Curator and Researcher of European Art)  and Amelia Glancy (Curatorial Assistant) who have provided us the data and have been working on the presentation in close collaboration with the RKD.
