The Frick Collection adds five paintings to The Rembrandt Database

22 April 2015

The Frick Collection has enriched the database with its five Rembrandt paintings and rich art historical and provenance information, and thorough bibliographies. Among its important Rembrandt collection is the Polish rider, a painting with much debate about the subject. Also of great interest are the lengthy so called Suhr reports, written by William Suhr in the sixties and seventies. The documentation contains excellent recently taken normal light photographs.

Thamar Weidema (at the time project associate of the Rembrandt Database) and staff from The Frick Collection and Frick Reference Library have done an enormous amount of work to sort out the documentation and metadata.
