Additions to Rembrandt’s 'Portrait of a man rising from his chair'

25 March 2020

We’re happy to announce that The Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati has added research data on its Rembrandt to the database, further complementing already gathered material. Also, the art-historical information of the painting has been updated, resulting in an elaborate bibliography.

The documentation shared by the museum includes reports on earlier treatments, dating back to 1947. Because of this, it was possible to further complete the survey of the History of Conservation and Research on the painting.

We would like to thank Joan Hendricks (Chief Registrar and Collections Manager) and Angela Fuller (Curatorial and Registration Assistant) for collaborating with us and for providing us with the research data.
