Two new Rembrandt paintings online from the Gemäldegalerie Berlin

The art historical information and technical documents of “The man with the golden helmet” and “Susanna and the elders” from the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin are now available on The Rembrandt Database.
In 1985/1986 the painting “The man with the golden helmet” was restored and studied with autoradiography, infrared photography, normal light, ultraviolet light, X-radiography and sample analyses were carried out by the Doerner Institut in Munich. After the technical examination, the Gemäldegalerie Berlin finally concluded that the painting was not by Rembrandt but by someone from his circle. The documents pertaining these studies and the treatment can now be viewed on the database.
